New York Yankees - Lesson for the Premiership

As a new Premier League season is upon us it is all too easy to sit back and decry the dominance of Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. Who can ever break into this axis of evil and world domination? It has become a commonly held belief that the money that the premiership and Champions League brings means no team can break into this cartel without the a multi-billion dollar infusion of cash and that consequently the sort of cash being spent guarantees you success.

Those who propound this theory might want to take a look at the New York Yankees this season to see how this can pan out. The Yankees are the goliaths of the MLB with their huge payroll and massive fan base and marketing clout. Despite all this the Yankees are not even going to qualify for the play-offs this year and it is a number of years since they won the World Series despite being the 800 pound gorilla of baseball. So, the moral is, money helps but it cant guarantee success at least in the short term

Today's bet of the day. Norwich to beat QPR generally available at 2.4 with William Hill QPR had good win at weekend but played against 10 men for an hour and Southampton posed them problems until QPR's 2nd goal which was ludricously offside went in thereby crushing their hopes. Norwich have turned the corner and the signing of Sibiereski will confirm them as dark horses for promotion.

My mate Barry from Nottingham is staying with me for a few days. Barry is an on course bookmaker and totally top man. Loves his pubs clubs and all things female. We'll be out and about pubbing and clubbing on Thursday so I'll let you know how that goes.

Finally, the piece of advice that is more important than any to a gambler - if you can bet with other peoples money and keep the winnings then you are a mug not to. There are online gambling sites by the dozen out there offering free bets. Use it!!
